Overview

By being a part of an American host family you will experience more than you could as a visitor. You will experience American holidays, birthdays, family celebrations, dinners out, and watching kids' sporting events with the family! Even the day-to-day things, like going to the grocery store, will make you understand America better! Some things will be new, strange, and maybe even funny; some things you will see are exactly the same.
During your year you will have 6 weeks to travel; spend a week in New York City for Au Pair Orientation and Training and you will have the opportunity to explore options to study in the U.S. by taking classes at American colleges and universities. Your year will be full of fun and adventure!

EduCare Au Pairs complete 12 credit hours at an accredited post-secondary university during their year instead of 6. The contribution from Host Families is higher because of this. Au Pairs extending for a second year have an additional educational requirement.
