Winter program


San Diego-United state
Winter Program allows you to spend the better part of your winter abroad learning about another culture, immersing yourself in the language of your host country, making new friends and taking part in the daily life of your host family. Winter formal language instruction and organized activities are available. We are pleased to customize your program to fit your requirements.
Our campus is centrally located in beautiful downtown San Diego in America¡¯s ¡°Most Beautiful
City¡± Facilities include a high-tech computer lab, wireless internet access, student lounge, kitchen, and spacious, bright classrooms.

To qualify, you must be 12-18 years of age with average grades and excellent character references.

PROGRAM DETAILS
Special Group programs include:
• Professional English Classes - 15 sessions /week
• Supervised activities ¨C Monday through Friday
• 1 trip to Disneyland and 1 trip to the San Diego Zoo included per 2 week minimum program
• Academic materials
• Computers with free Internet access during supervised break time
• Graduation ceremony and Certificate of Completion
• Homestay Placement
• Homestay Accommodation ¨C 21 meals per week (breakfast, sack lunch, dinner)
• Arrival and departure transfers from San Diego airport
• 1 Chaperone free of charge for each group of 15+ students.

ACCOMMODATIONS
All of homestays are carefully screened for excellence and the families are carefully selected. We have developed a trusting relationship with these families, and takes special care when placing children. We will give you complete details of your student¡¯s host family before they arrive in San Diego.

There are a wide range of sports and educational activities included in the program every week, Monday to Friday afternoons. Samples of the activities that may be arranged for your group are: college campus tours, beach barbeques, shopping, beach volleyball, La Jolla Aquarium, swimming, and much more! Evenings and weekends are spent with quality American host families, enjoying all the hospitality that America has to offer.

EXCURSIONS
Intrax also offers the possibility of weekend excursion to an area theme park or attraction for an extra fee. Possible excursion destinations:
• Sea World
• Lego Land
• Universal Studios
• Hollywood Tour

Application Regulations:

Groups must confirm their booking numbers and submit the complete applications at least 2 months in advance of arrival and a 20% deposit must be received with a completed application.

For cancellations submitted to us in writing more than 30 days prior to the arrival date or for cancellations due to visa denial, students will be charged the non-refundable application fee and Homestay placement fee.

For cancellations submitted to us in writing less than 30 days prior to arrival date will have the 20% deposit held, unless the cancellation is due to a visa denial.

Refunds for cancellations after the program has begun will follow the standard us terms and conditions for cancellations.

The group should arrive on the weekend and begin classes on Monday. All students are required to arrive at the San Diego Centre by 9:00 am on the first Monday for orientation and testing.

Vancouver-Canada

Winter Program allows you to spend the better part of your winter abroad learning about another culture, immersing yourself in the language of your host country, making new friends and taking part in the daily life of your host family. Winter formal language instruction and organized activities are available. We are pleased to customize your program to fit your requirements.

We design for students to learn English and experience Canadian culture by taking part in fun events, such as visiting cultural sites, and participating in recreational activities. We train and experience staff and teachers¡¯ carefully monitor the student and ensure they are provided with the highest level of personal safety, English instruction, and cultural integration everyday.

On the first day of classes, new students will be tested at 9:00 am and we evaluate students¡¯ reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary ability. We separate students by age and English level. The students study during the day and may participate in afternoon activities. Optional weekend excursions can be added with an additional cost. There are a wide range of planned cultural, sporting and educational activities each week. Our philosophy is to integrate English into every day life.

Program Details:

It includes a variety of different services designed to provide students with a safe, fun and educational experience. The Group Program includes:

For students 8-17 years old: Academic Youth Program -Monday to Thursday; 9:00 am to 12:00pm (12:00-1:00 pm supervised lunch time)

For students age 18 and up: English Success Program - Monday to Thursday; 9:00 am to 1:30 pm

Optional afternoon and weekend activities available for an extra fee

Homestay Accommodation are arranged with a Sunday check in and Saturday check out with 21 meals per week

If you register in the homestay program, evenings and weekends will be spent with our quality Canadian host families enjoying all the hospitality that Canada has to offer.

For children 12 years and under living in homestay provided by us, must be booked with a friend or sibling in the same homestay.

Application Regulations:

For cancellations submitted to Intrax in writing more than 30 days prior to the arrival date or for cancellations due to visa denial, students will be charged the non-refundable application fee and Homestay placement fee ($275 for over 18 and $400 for 17 and under).

For cancellations submitted to Intrax in writing less than 30 days prior to arrival date will have the 20% deposit held, unless the cancellation is due to a visa denial.

Refunds for cancellations after the program has begun will follow the standard Intrax terms and conditions for cancellations.

Groups can arrive on the weekend and begin classes on Monday, and all students are required to arrive at The Intrax Vancouver Centre by 9:00 am on the first Monday for orientation and testing.

Students participating in Intrax Homestay should arrive on Sunday and depart on Saturday.

Any attending student aged 8-12 requesting homestay accommodation must be booked with an older friend or sibling at least 13 years of age.
